The Family of Me

The Family of Me deals with photography’s ability to show identity through images. It takes away individual identity, deals with the loss of original identity and the banality of modern life. The piece can both disturb and entertain its viewer whilst it deals with the ‘other’ and ‘monstrous’ side of identity. Taboos are touched upon as the piece suggests an immortality to the future of life by means of cloning.

The Family of Me and was originally shown as a slideshow with accompanying music (Perry Como’s ‘magic moments’) to give the added effect of a high street style photo viewing booth.

The soundtrack in this video is used solely for the purposes of artistic expression and in no way attempts to commercially exploit the material for monetary gain.
